We have a dedicated Social Value Champion responsible for collaborating with housing associations, charities and schools on projects that deliver social or environmental benefit — from community clean-ups and fundraising to donating time and resources for local improvement projects such as replacing kitchens, painting, electrical upgrades and plumbing, so that our expertise and resource are put to work for the benefit of the local community.

Backing local grassroots football
As part of YEC’s commitment to the local community, we sponsor a local under-15s football team — supporting them by purchasing their kit and helping young people take part in grassroots sport within their community.

A proud signatory
YEC is proud to be a signatory to the Armed Forces Covenant, pledging our support to the Armed Forces community and their families. We signed the Covenant on 12 March 2026.
Our Social Value Champion engages with local Armed Forces charities to support their fundraising activities, such as Armed Forces Day and Week, Reserves Day, the Poppy Appeal and Remembrance activities.
Our formal pledges reflect YEC’s commitment to ensure that those who serve, or have served, in the armed forces are treated fairly and with respect. We also support any Reservists and Cadet Force Adult Volunteers in our employment with additional leave to carry out their duties and training.
